Being missional means that we are living life in a way that develops bonds and friendships with others for the glory of God and the purpose of relational evangelism. It’s loving people in a way that they are intrigued by the Gospel and what motivates us to love them well. It’s making decisions because it furthers the Kingdom rather than our comfort. It’s not comfortable, it presses us to dependence on God, and it requires courage.
Meredith from The Wicket Gate wrote a post called 3 Reasons We Don’t Live Missionally where she bravely shares three reasons why living missionally takes a back seat.
After all, I see people everyday who are living life without God and who need His salvation as much as I did… and then a week goes by in which I have done nothing in the mission field in which God has planted me. Why does that happen? Why do we never seem to be able to follow through on our determination to live on mission? Why do we always seem to end up sidetracked?”
