The world screams comparisons & failures into our ears and hearts while we desperately struggle with the weight of our humanity & acceptance. Yet, a whisper cries from the deep and we can easily miss it, not recognizing the voice from where it came or recognizing it but disregarding it. Unless we are abiding in the One who’s voice calmly counters the worldly shouts, we will not recognize this whisper and it gets drowned out with the other noise.
On Ifeoma’s site Purposeful & Meaningful, Dawn wrote a post called For the Woman Who Struggles With Acceptance where she elegantly and beautifully portrays the loving kindness of God’s Word to soothe our souls in this struggle for identity and beauty, for acceptance. She illustrates just how pivotal we change when we realize what our acceptance from God (through faith in Jesus) means. Looking to the only One who can truly tell us who we are because we are His means that we can shed the shame we’ve become accustomed to.
Daughter of Eve, the shame that we willingly wear is not the garment we are called to put on, no matter where we are or what we have done.
He weaves a tapestry of grace and mercy to cover us, and adorns our ears with the gentle whisper of hope as a reminder of who He is.“
