What do you do when you are presented with several gospel-centered opportunities, ones that have the basis of evangelism and spiritual formation, and yet limited time and energy?
How do you decide where to devote your focus and effort?
What sacrifice is needed in order to be faithful with the (however temporary) roles God calls you to?
I’ve been somewhat afraid to write this post but I have known for a while that it’s been needing to be penned.
Part of my apprehension in writing it is because I don’t want to see a loss of readers. I love the friendships and community that has developed here. I’m amazed at the growth that has happened here and I can’t tell you how encouraging it has been to see God’s faithfulness with the vision He provided for this space.
I’m sure some of you have noticed that this blog has been quiet much of the fall, especially after having 3-5 posts a week for the year+ prior to this summer. While I greatly love writing, God’s given me a vision for two specific ministries that I have felt I need to be focused on.
With being the coordinator of both our town’s MOPS group and a new Perspectives on the World Christian Movement course that will be starting in just over a week, I’m finding that my efforts are divided. Both ventures are serious endeavors and ones that I want to be faithful with. Both ministries are catalysts, albeit in different ways, for the deepening of peoples’ faith.
At times I have found myself frazzled, stressed, overwhelmed and simply unmotivated to do anything.
At times, I’ve fought to understand where to spend my limited free time.
I deeply care for this blog – writing is how I process much of what I learn and go through – so I’ve felt pulled in so many different directions and I just can’t keep up with my inward demands.
I will never stop writing but I am going to stop thinking I have to write.
Therefore, in light of these two very big hats, I’ve taken a small break from blogging. I’ll still be writing here occasionally until both the MOPS year and our Perspectives course is over (both of which will end this coming May) but I will only write when God lays something specific on my heart to write about.
I will still host Grace & Truth because I want to be part of a writing community that chases the Lord and is gifted at telling the stories of how He’s at work. I’m so encouraged when I read all that you folks share so you will still be able to link-up your own posts here each week and see a featured post that I’ve come across and am honored to share.
I want to run the race with excellence instead of mediocrity.
I desire to see the lost found, the broken healed and babes in the faith grow into spiritual giants.
For now, until May, I need to let it be known that I am sacrificing my vision and dream for this blog until the two greater ministries I am leading are finished.
Now without further ado, onto the link-up! Grace & Truth exists to point people to Jesus! We hope this link-up will be a source of encouragement each and every week.
If you’re a blogger our hope is that you’ll use this space as a way to meet new friends within the Christian blogging community. If you’re a reader our hope is that you’ll meet new bloggers that love Jesus just as much as you do! Most of all, we hope you’ll meet Jesus here.

2.) Leave 1-2 of your most recent CHRISTIAN LIVING posts. Please do not link DIY, Crafts, Recipes, etc. Links of this kind will be deleted. We also reserve the right to delete posts that don’t align with the theme or that are deemed by the hostesses to be inappropriate.
3.) Visit 1-2 other links and leave a meaningful comment! We want to encourage community, so please don’t link and run!
