I absolutely love the Princess Parables series. I’m really hoping we can get Claire the entire series for her birthday or for Christmas but we’ll see. They are amazing books relating parables from the Bible into the lives of 5 sisters: Hope and the Hidden Treasure, Joy’s Birthday Blessing, Faith’s Mysterious Garden, Grace and the Lost Kitten, & Charity’s Courageous Heart.
It’s a fantastic option for girls who are absolutely enthralled with princesses, yet you want to point them toward Jesus at the same time rather than indulging them into Disney. Don’t get me wrong, there are certain Disney princesses that I adore but there are also many who are defiant and complain, or who are immodest, that I’d rather my daughter not emulate.
To be honest, I thought I would receive the actual children’s book, not the sticker & activity book, but that’s what I get for not reading it correctly. However, Claire really loved this extensive book with all kinds of activities. Included in it’s 16 pages are sticker pages, dot-to-dot, mazes, color by number, several different kinds of puzzles, etc.
The age range for this activity book is 4-8 and I agree with that. Claire loved every single page, she is four and a half. My nearly 3yo son wanted to join in as well but he probably doesn’t have the fine motor skills developed yet for doing anything other than scribbling all over every page.
We really enjoyed this book, it encompasses so many different activities that she didn’t get bored with it at all until every page was done. Well worth the few dollars to reinforce fine motor skills at the same time as following a terrific story.
Disclosure: I received this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. All opinions are my own.
