The third week of Advent is one of joy and celebration, waiting with expectation of His glory!
Waiting with Expectation
Centuries ago, Christ came to us as a child, so we too anticipate Christ’s coming again as King of Kings. Oh God, we rejoice!!! Your arrival draws near.
“For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.” – 1 Corinthians 13:12
Dear God, create in us a beautiful paradox. The joy of finding You while still pursuing You. The joy of having You yet always wanting You.
“And the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with singing; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.” – Isaiah 35:10
“So Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.” – Hebrews 9:28
Like your prophet Zephaniah, we rejoice in Your soon coming to take away our punishment and gather the exiles. We rejoice in your Second Coming, when You return for your bride to bring her home. David’s psalm is our cry: “You make known to me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.” (Psalm 16:11) We Wait for You, Rejoicing! Amen.
