Disclosure: I received a free copy of this book for the purpose of my honest opinion.
Fellow blogger, Alison Wood of Pint-sized Treasures, tackles the desire of many moms in her new book. The first thing that caught my eye though is that it starts out with a reliance on God and having the attitude of thankfulness. Only after this grateful cultivation does she suggest practical ways in which you can direct the tone of your household to be light and happy. She recognizes that moms are usually the mood-setters in the home.
She then moves into urging moms to obey Scripture. To obey God, through what He says in Scripture, means also that you need to know it. You need to be studying it in order to know what to obey. There are certain things in all of us that are sinful and need to be repented of and this also helps model the type of heart we want to cultivate in our homes.
Throughout the book, she has heart-based tips for turning the home into a joyful abode, but she also has behavior-based tips as well to help us loosen our control over the people within our home & gain better control over things that tear it down. This is a good, practical guide for changing the atmosphere within your home, starting with yourself.
An added bonus that she’s so graciously given me is that I get to giveaway 3 copies of her book to 3 amazing winners!!
