Number 10 – Describe your most embarrassing moment.
I honestly don’t know what my most embarrassing moment is. Maybe it’s because I don’t get embarrassed that easily, or the fact that I’m great at forgetting embarrassing things (I wish other people were good at forgetting my embarrassing moments). If I had to pick something, I would say it was on my wedding day. I was already nervous because I don’t like being in front of everybody, the bagpiper was late & we skimped on every detail of our wedding and reception because we wanted to splurge on our honeymoon so I was just nervous about everything.
During the ceremony we made a sand unity candle with 2 separate colors of sand, then Chris (our good friend, pastor & officiant) was going to cover it with wax, and finally we would use our separate candles to light the unity one. I don’t remember anything that was said, but I remember just mostly dumping my sand in without really waiting for Paul to catch up (he was trying to go slow and be artistic while I just wanted to be married already and off the stage). Then Chris was starting to pour in the wax, but the wax got stuck and only a little bit came out of the vase. Chris, who is naturally smooth and graceful was shaking oh-so-slightly to get more out. I finally looked at him, saw the situation and without thinking just reached over to “help” and ended up just dumping the whole thing right on top. That’s right, I did the pastor’s job – call me impatient, it’s ok.
I remember hearing a bunch of laughs and Chris did a wonderful job proceeding after that. It wasn’t until we got pictures back from the photographer that I realized I was actually caught on film! Here’s my “just get it over with” moment of taking control:
