I love lists. I really do, I make lists all the time but then I almost always lose them and things get back to piling up in my brain until I make a new list. I’ve noticed that when I have a list, I have accountability. I get to scratch things off the list and that feels SO GOOD. I’ve also noticed that without a list, I get sidetracked way too easily and then do half a dozen things only half-way through and end up feeling like I’ve gotten absolutely nowhere (which is exactly right!). Therefore, I’ve decided that I need to do a permanent list. I’ve thought of this many times but now I’m just so tired of not having a place to start that I’m just going to make a list!
So, below is my list. It’s my permanent cleaning list until it needs to change and this will help me focus my time and energy on only the things for that day because I know that other things have another day when they should get done – no more getting sidetracked!! The only other side note is there are 3 chores that should get done every day (or one every day and the others as needed on any day) and those 3 things are Laundry, Trash and keeping the Kitchen clean!
Monday: Make grocery list, menu planning, clean hardwood & tile floors
Tuesday: Grocery shopping, Dusting (MC night)
Thursday: Vacuum Downstairs
Friday: Vacuum Upstairs
Saturday: Yard and/or other errands
Sunday: ALWAYS a day of rest!
So, starting today I am implementing my chore schedule. I know it will probably change periodically, but at least it’s a place to start!!
